Nicholas C. “Baks” Baker, 32, Sandusky, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on July 6, 1984 in Persido, CA, and was a 2003 graduate of Sandusky High School.

Nick was employed by Cedar Point in ride maintenance.

He loved bowling, in which he had several 300 games, softball, camping, derby cars, karaoke, and spending time with his daughter and rest of his family. Nick played 4 years of baseball for Sandusky High School, was a member of the Amvets Post 17, and the Sandusky Eagles.

He is survived by his daughter, Zoey Baker; love of his life, Kelsey Wollenslegel; mother, Pamela (Brunow) Baker; siblings, Sarah (Jerod Snyder) Baker, Jason (Melissa) Baker, and Heather Fox; maternal grandfather, Richard Brunow and paternal grandmother, Joan (Stan) Lapchynski; niece, Tessa Baker; nephews, James Fox, Ryan Fox, Ty Baker, Nathaniel Enderby, Drew Baker, and Bailey Baker; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; and his pets, Molly and Zeus.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Baker;  maternal grandmother, Linda Brunow; and paternal grandfather, Richard  Baker.

Friends may call on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, from 4-8 P.M. in Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.  Friends may also call on Thursday from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 11 A.M. in Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.  Pastor Dr. Eric Bodenstab will officiate.  Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery.
