Steven J. Toft

Steven J. Toft

Funeral Director and Embalmer

Steve was born and raised in Sandusky. A 1981 graduate of Perkins High School, he received an Associate Degree of Applied Science from Bowling Green State University, and graduated from the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1985. 

He has worked in the funeral industry for over 30 years, and has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1986. He owns and operates Toft Funeral Home & Crematory. 

Steve is a member of many civic and professional organizations, including the National Funeral Directors Association, Ohio Funeral Directors Association, Firelands Funeral Director Association, Lorain County Funeral Directors Association, Ohio Embalmers Association, Kiwanis International, Science Lodge #50 F. & A.M., Singara Grotto, N.A.A.C.P., Zion Lutheran Church (past council member), and he bowls in the Paramount League. 

Steve and his wife, Jeannie Schwartz, have three children and three grandchildren.


Justin R. Toft

Funeral Director and Embalmer

Justin was born and raised in Sandusky. He is a 2004 graduate of Perkins High School, a 2008 graduate of Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio (where he earned the degree Bachelor of Science in Psychology), a 2010 graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana (where he earned the degree Master of Arts in Counseling), and a 2011 graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. 

He has received numerous academic awards from both Heidelberg and C.C.M.S., most notably The Nunnamaker Memorial Award for highest class standing at C.C.M.S., and the Ohio Funeral Directors Association Leadership Award in recognition of student display of exemplary leadership qualities and abilities. 

Justin has worked in the funeral industry for most of his life, and has served as a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 2012. He is an ordained minister, and a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Ohio Funeral Directors Association, Firelands Funeral Directors Association, Ohio Embalmers Association, Sandusky Rotary Club, and St. John's UCC. 

He lives in Sandusky with his wife, Diane, and son, Theodore.


Jeanne M. Schwartz

Office Manager

Jeannie was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated in 1981 from Cor Jesu Academy in St. Louis. She attended Avila College in Kansas City, Missouri, and received a B.F.A. in Fine Arts from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1986.

After spending eight years as a stay-at-home mom, Jeannie began working with her husband, Steve Toft, at the funeral home in the summer of 1994. She enjoys both working as a member of the support staff for the funeral home and working with her family.

Jeannie and Steve have three children and three grandchildren.


Allison Will

Allison Will

Funeral Director and Embalmer

Allison was born in Sandusky, and has resided in this area for most of her life. A 1990 graduate of St. Mary’s High School, she attended The Ohio State University before transferring to, and graduating from, the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1994. 

Allison is a licensed funeral director, embalmer, and insurance agent in the State of Ohio. She is also a Notary Public. She has been employed in area funeral homes since 1998, and is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Ohio Funeral Directors Association, and Firelands Funeral Directors Association. Allison is also an owner of Firelands Regional Medical Center DME Co., in Sandusky.

A member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, a Board Member of the Rotary Club, President of the Sandusky Orchestra Parents Association, and member of the Sandusky Parent Congress, Allison also volunteers at Sandusky Central Catholic School. 

She and her husband, Michael, have five sons, Gage, Dominic, Lucas, Vincenzo, and Leo, and two grandsons.

David E. Meredith

David E. Meredith

Funeral Support Staff

David “Dave” E. Meredith is a lifelong resident of Sandusky, graduating from Sandusky High in 1962. He has been married to Dianne (Merkle) for almost 50 years. They have three children, Dru, Ryan, and Ann; and eight grandchildren.

Dave spent 27 years in business administration. He is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and enjoys time with family and being outdoors.


Howard Collins

Howard is a lifelong resident of Sandusky, graduating from Sandusky High School in 1968 and from General Motors Institute in 1973 with a bachelors degree in engineering. He has been married to Carol (Yeager) for 45 years. They have three children and three grandchildren.

Howard worked at New Departure-Hyatt for 46 years, taught at Sandusky Central Catholic High School for 11 years, and is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoys his family and traveling to different places.


Ryan Rickard

Ryan Rickard

Funeral Support Staff

Ryan was born and raised in Sandusky. He is a 2010 graduate of Perkins High School and EHOVE Career Center, a 2012 graduate of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, and a 2015 Kent State University graduate in Kent, Ohio. Ryan has worked in the medical field since the age of 16, working as a certified nurses’ assistant for 6 years in various settings across Northern Ohio. Currently, he is a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) and plans to pursue a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy at The University of Findlay. 

He is a member of the following professional organizations: the Ohio Occupational Therapy Association, American Occupational Therapy Association, and National Alliance on Mental Illness. He enjoys working on his 1963 Ford Falcon, reading, and listening to music.
